Chapter 8: No Butts About It: Convicting a Killer by Matching Bite Marks

This case is about an FBI agent who goes undercover to expose his own brother’s illegal car operation. The undercover agent, Michael, was murdered and a cigarette butt was left at the scene of the murder. His brother, Roy, was the main suspect. Dr. Bass with the help of Norman Sperber, a forensic dentist, compared the bite marks on the cigarette found at the scene with one found in Roy’s kitchen. Roy was convicted after the bite marks were found to be a match.
