On September 26-27, 2018, in Indianapolis, Indiana, more than 60 attendees, including 26 representatives from 15 different potential members, participated in the planning meeting for the Center for Bioanalytic Metrology, a proposed National Science Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Center. This milestone event was an opportunity for potential center members to interact with each other and the center’s academic leadership; learn about, discuss, and review the center’s shared research priorities; and meet some of the outstanding faculty and students who will help carry out the center’s work.
The next steps in the development of the center include:
- Submission of a preproposal to the NSF in October
- Collecting letters of commitment from future members–from industry, research institutions, national labs, and Federal agencies–by the end of November
- Submission of a full proposal by December 19
Interested parties who were not at the planning meeting are still more than welcome to request information and/or a discussion about the value that the center can deliver to your organization in terms of new measurement science capabilities.
