Pfizer Supports CBM

Pfizer has expressed it’s support of the Center for Bioanalytic Metrology, saying that the center’s pre-competitive research is “extremely relevant for Pfizer Small Molecule Pharmaceutical Sciences.” CBM looks forward to working closely with Pfizer to tackle some of the most challenging problems for instrumentation and chemical measurement science facing industry and the nation.

In The News: CBM Profiled in Pharmaceutical Technology

The proposed Center for Bioanalytic Metrology was recently profiled in Pharmaceutical Technology’s “Laboratory Best Practices 2018” ebook (PDF download). CBM is highlighted as part of a forward-looking, industry-relevant interview with Dr. Christopher Welch, Director of the Indiana Consortium for Analytical Sciences and Engineering, a collaboration between principal CBM sites Purdue University, Indiana University, and University of Notre Dame.

Planning Meeting a Success

On September 26-27, 2018, in Indianapolis, Indiana, more than 60 attendees, including 26 representatives from 15 different potential members, participated in the planning meeting for the Center for Bioanalytic Metrology, a proposed National Science Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Center. This milestone event was an opportunity for potential center members to interact with each other and the center’s academic leadership; learn about, discuss, and review the center’s shared research priorities; and meet some of the outstanding faculty and students who will help carry out the center’s work.

The next steps in the development of the center include:

  • Submission of a preproposal to the NSF in October
  • Collecting letters of commitment from future members–from industry, research institutions, national labs, and Federal agencies–by the end of November
  • Submission of a full proposal by December 19

Interested parties who were not at the planning meeting are still more than welcome to request information and/or a discussion about the value that the center can deliver to your organization in terms of new measurement science capabilities.
