My interests lie in complex differential geometry, primarily in relation to Kähler manifolds, wherein the Riemannian, Symplectic, and Complex structures share a simple relationship. Riemann surfaces are the most fundamental example of this phenomenon, as all complex curves, all symplectic 2-folds, and all orientable Riemannian 2-folds are Kähler. Using them as the prototypical class of Kähler manifolds, one can ask what properties of these objects extend to higher dimensions, such as the existence of cscK metrics.
