It is with pride that we announce the release of the Food Security Coalition Community Cookbook and Calendar, the product of months of hard work from a dedicated group of Notre Dame students. The Community Cookbook and Calendar is a compilation of recipes from local farmers, nutritionists, and food lovers dedicated to sustainability and local eating. Organized by season and by month, the recipes in the dual Cookbook-Calendar are healthy, easy, and sourced from local ingredients.
In alignment with the mission of the Food Security Coalition, the book aims to highlight existing local resources and healthy food options available to the South Bend and Michiana area, serving as a guide for all who wish to eat nutritiously and responsibly.
The book is now available for purchase at $18 for those who live in the Michiana area and can be purchased at the Purple Porch Co-op as well as the Monroe Park Grocery Co-op, and $20 for those who would like the book shipped. The proceeds of the sales support the efforts of the Food Security Coalition and the Monroe Park Grocery Co-op, both which aim to address food insecurity in the community.
Special recognition to Christina Gutiérrez for spearheading the efforts behind this initiative. To place your orders, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
