About

The Notre Dame Climbing Club has been in existence since 1997, letting climbers of all experience levels share their love for climbing and the great outdoors. One of the people who helped start the club was former Notre Dame philosophy professor and renowned sport climber Bill Ramsey.

The club is open to all Notre Dame, St. Mary’s, or Holy Cross undergraduate or graduate students, faculty, and staff. Members have the opportunity to participate in outdoor trips to top climbing destinations like the Red River Gorge in Kentucky and Boulder, Colorado.

Our current home gym is a bouldering wall and ‘Rock ‘n Roll’ rotating wall in the basement of Rockne Memorial Gymnasium. In January 2018, a new climbing wall facility will be opening in the Duncan Student Center.

Find out more about climbing and what it is on our ‘Resources’ page.
