Julian Chike is a doctoral candidate at the University of Notre Dame in the Department of Theology (degree: Christianity and Judaism in Antiquity). His primary research interests include linguistics, Assyriology and the Bible, narratology, memory studies, and reception history. In his dissertation, Julian investigates how cuneiform sources from the Middle and Late Bronze, especially documents from Mari, can help scholars evaluate aspects of Israel’s remembered past preserved in the Hebrew Bible.
Julian is also a Graduate Associate with the Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence. At the Kaneb Center he focuses on inclusive pedagogy and effective strategies for facilitating discussion that promotes critical thinking. He is also the Vice President of the Graduate Theological Society.
