ISWC Paper is In!

Our ISWC (International Symposium on Wearable Computing) submission entitled “Experiences Measuring Sleep and Physical Activity Patterns Across a Large College Cohort With Fitbits” was accepted as a long paper for the conference.  Big congrats to my student Rachael Purta who shepherded the paper from start to finish.

The focus of the paper is on the design of the NetHealth study and compliance aspects as it relates to the Fitbit Charge HR devices worn by our student study cohort of roughly 500 freshmen from Fall 2015.  We discuss our mechanisms for recruitment and payment and note compliance levels across the various cohorts.  We also note preliminary averages for the population with regards to steps and sleep.
