Andre Murnieks received his MFA in Design and BS in Industrial Design from The Ohio State University. Just before coming to Notre Dame, Andre served as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati’s Digital Design program at DAAP. Between degrees he worked professionally as an interactive and information designer gaining experience related to retail, financial, automotive, health care and pharmaceutical industries. Within each of these industries, he has worked on a range of projects including retail consumer and marketing to corporate intranet and extranet applications. The list of clients include BMW, Nationwide Insurance, Motorola, CIGNA HealthCare, Adidas, Bank One, Microsoft and Kodak.
Currently, his research and related professional work centers around interfaces and interactive mechanisms that facilitate synchronous, distance communication and collaboration. He teaches in this area of interactive design and endeavors to integrate these technologies and communication methods into the discipline.
