Volunteer hopes to change student outlook on violence

By Victoria Tokarski, Take Ten Volunteer

If my students could take away one thing from Take Ten, I would want them to remember that there are nonviolent ways to solving conflicts. I have seen how easily some students can get angry over small conflicts. Sometimes, they even start physical fights or rumors over small misunderstandings. They automatically think that violence is the best way to solve a problem in school. I want them to remember alternate ways of resolving conflict the next time that they have a problem.
