By Victoria Tokarski, Take Ten Volunteer
So far, my favorite memory with Take Ten occurred last year. I was in a classroom of older students and they usually found it difficult to pay attention and participate in discussions. However, my team decided to read them a story one week. They loved it! They were quiet and attentive as I read the story. Afterwards, they answered the questions we asked. This is my favorite memory because that experience showed me that the students may not always act like they appreciate that you are there, but they really do value what you are doing for them by volunteering.
