Trio Programs Announce Fourth Annual Father Ted’s Run

May 1, 2011

Help Local Youth Get a Running Start on Education!

We’ve revamped the race this year to change the time, date, and logo. We are looking to increase registration and sponsorship, in order to increase funds for scholarships for Trio Seniors.

Trio Programs at Notre Dame include Trio-Upward Bound and Trio-Educational Talent Search. These two programs serve nearly a thousand low-income and first-generation middle and high schools students in Michiana, assisting students through college information, academic tutoring, college visits, summer residential experience, leadership conferences, and cultural and social activities. Proceeds from Father Ted’s fund college scholarships for Trio students.

“Father Ted,” or Father Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C., helped bring Trio Programs to Notre Dame because they provide an opportunity for low-income students to become the first in their families to attend college. Since the 1960s, Trio Programs have maintained a presence on the campus.

Visit our Website for more detailed information. Participants can pre-register or register the day of. A PDF mail-in registration is available on the web site and the online registration should be live by April thanks to Agency ND.
