{"id":108,"date":"2017-06-09T18:28:13","date_gmt":"2017-06-09T22:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/2017-pilgrimage\/?p=108"},"modified":"2017-06-10T18:32:42","modified_gmt":"2017-06-10T22:32:42","slug":"top-ten-enlightenments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/2017-pilgrimage\/2017\/06\/09\/top-ten-enlightenments\/","title":{"rendered":"TOP TEN ENLIGHTENMENTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Day 4: \u00a0While I could easily read about all of these things below, they would never have the same impact for me as experiencing them in person&#8230; here are the top 10 ways I have been enlightened with knowledge so far this week:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">10: \u00a0I now understand why Fr. Moreau is called \u201cBlessed\u201d and the difference between beatification and canonization<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">9: \u00a0Finally, I recognize the difference between Fr. Moreau and Fr. Sorin\u2019s roles in history. \u00a0Who sent whom, their differences in strengths and personalities, and could probably actually now recite to someone else the basics about the the beginnings of the University of Notre Dame<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">8: \u00a0I now get what is meant when we talk about Christ\u2019s \u201cSacred Heart\u201d and why the heart carries such symbolism in the Holy Cross charism<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">7: \u00a0After years of misunderstanding, Fr. John made it clear why in Catholicism we pray to the saints, not that they can answer prayers, but for our intercession just as we would ask one another person to pray for us<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">6: \u00a0Where the name \u201cHoly Cross\u201d was derived from as the given name for the congregation<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">5: \u00a0The difference between a church, a chapel, a shrine and a cathedral<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">4: \u00a0How Fr. Moreau envisioned the triad of priests, brothers and sisters being a reflection of the Holy Family<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3: \u00a0Why Fr. Moreau had such a passion for education<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2; The many unique and symbolic correlations that are here in France and at Notre Dame in the US<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1: \u00a0Understanding Fr.
