{"id":123,"date":"2017-06-10T18:15:11","date_gmt":"2017-06-10T22:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/2017-pilgrimage\/?p=123"},"modified":"2017-06-10T18:29:23","modified_gmt":"2017-06-10T22:29:23","slug":"trust-the-shepherd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/2017-pilgrimage\/2017\/06\/10\/trust-the-shepherd\/","title":{"rendered":"TRUST THE SHEPHERD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Riding in the bus from Le Mans to Chartres I drifted off to lsleep, and right before I woke up, I had an image pop into my head.<\/p>\n<p>There has bee a lot mentioned during this pilgrimage about &#8220;community.&#8221; \u00a0Yesterday we left the hotel at the same time some younger (kindergarten) children were being lead by their teachers to cross the street.<\/p>\n<p>I struck me how similar we looked to the children. \u00a0Here we are, Fr. John&#8217;s flock, and he is our shepherd. \u00a0Others have already known him, but I did not. \u00a0Advice provided by Mimi Beck (2016 pilgrim) was to &#8220;trust Father John.&#8221; \u00a0This piece of advice kept coming to mind.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure yet how much this experience has strengthened my relationship with Catholicism, but it has strengthened my faith in people.<\/p>\n<p><em>Written by Rebecca GIllespie<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Riding in the bus from Le Mans to Chartres I drifted off to lsleep, and right before I woke up, I had an image pop into my head.
