Cuandixia is a peasant village not far from Beijing. The notable feature of these photos is the wall calligraphy from the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution (represented by all but one of the paintings). Also take note of the dry mountains, not locations in which one would want to either farm or conduct guerrilla operations.
