OFFICERS

Academic Year 2021/2022

Tinaishe Maramba is the current AGC President for the Academic Year 2021/2022 and is from Zimbabwe. Tinaishe is an MGA candidate concentrating in International Peace Studies. As president, Tinaishe is focusing on creating a sense of community and building relationships among members of the AGC. The strategy to accomplish this revolves around four key approaches: 1) Community building; 2) Finance strategies; 3) External relations, and 4) Events.

Elizabeth Adeyemo is the current Executive VP for the AGC for the Academic Year 2021/2022 and is from Nigeria. Elizabeth is a Ph.D. Anthropology candidate and her thesis is on the relationship between settlement patterns and architecture. As the Executive VP, she is focusing on improving partnerships between the Africa Graduate Club and partner organizations and individuals within and outside Notre Dame.

Academic Year 2021/2022 and is from Benin. Samson is a Ph.D. Economics candidate with interests include Macroeconomics and International Economics. As VP for Finance & Sponsorships, he seeks to increase the funding opportunities for the AGC and streamline its financing processes.

Suleiman Agboola is the current VP for Careers for the AGC for the Academic Year 2021/2022 and is from Nigeria. Suleiman is a Ph.D. candidate in Chemical Engineering. As the VP for Careers, he hopes to facilitate avenues through which AGC members can develop their career prospects.

Oghenemaro Anuyah was re-elected as the VP of Alumni & Club relations for the Academic Year 2021/2022 and is from Nigeria. She is a Ph.D. student in the CSE program. Oghenemaro intends to seek for and execute several initiatives beneficial to African students within and outside of the Notre Dame community for the development of effective skills that would prepare them for their careers.

Sarah Nanjala is the VP of Media & Communications for the AGC for the Academic Year 2021/2022 and is from Kenya. Sarah is an MGA candidate concentrating in International Peace Studies. As the VP of Media & Communications, she hopes to increase engagement within the AGC and with external partners. She also hopes to increase the visibility of the AGC on social media, more so for incoming students and viable partners/sponsors.

Jean Marc Tiendrebeogo is the current VP of Events & Programming for the AGC for the Academic Year 2021/2022 and is from Burkina Faso. Jean-Marc is an MGA candidate concentrating in International Peace Studies. As the VP of Events & Programming, Jean-Marc hopes to build the AGC community through events that enhance a sense of belonging.

Academic Year 2020/2022

Arthur Ssembajja was the AGC President for the Academic Year 2020/2021 and is from Uganda, East Africa. Arthur is an MBA/MGA dual degree candidate concentrating in Business Leadership, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Development. As president, Arthur is excited to give direction to the AGC through 3As: Africa experience of oneness – Ubuntu; Africa Alumni engagement; and Africa connect – events and conferences bridging Notre Dame and Africa. After graduate school, Arthur hopes to be involved in international development and management strategy consulting. Arthur loves to play and watch soccer, travel, and listen to music.

 
Olatunde A. Awotunde was serving as the Executive Vice President and is from Nigeria. He is a Ph.D. student in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department with a focus on the advancement of integrating science to solve human health, environmental and everyday challenges. With versatile experience in project management and regulatory reporting in financial terrain, he is excited to work with all members of the executives towards advancing a better Africa and Africans.
 

                   

Al-Amin Mohammed was serving as Executive Vice President. He is a Ph.D. student in the CSE department and is originally from Ethiopia, located in the Horn of Africa. Al-Amin is passionate about bringing in a global identity among people of African descent to foster large-scale cooperation, for better outcomes. Also serving as the  Social Activities Co-Chair of the Black Graduate Student Club, he is committed to community outreach and promoting intersectionality.

                   

Chioma Okereke was serving as the Vice President for Finance & Sponsorships this academic year. She is excited to work with other members to build structures, systems, and relationships that enable the club to remain financially sustainable and expand its internal & external networks. An experienced professional trained in the financial industry, she is a Master of Global Affairs student at Notre Dame. She also serves as a Graduate Student Union Professional Development Chair. In her spare time, she enjoys activities that expose her to new experiences, such as cooking and traveling.

 
                   

Oghenemaro Anuyah was the Vice President for Careers. Her interests with the AGC are centered around seeking for and executing several initiatives beneficial to African students within and outside of the Notre Dame community for the development of effective skills that would prepare them for their careers. As a PhD student in the CSE program, she conducts research on designing explainable, accountable, and accessible AI technology for diverse users. Margaret Adomako was serving as the Vice President for Alumni and Club Relations. She is excited to implement policies that can effectively engage the African graduate alumni of Notre Dame. She is currently a student studying Global Affairs at Notre Dame. In her spare time, she loves to take photographs.

                   

 

Asinamai Ndai was serving as the Vice President for Media and Communication. A public health specialist experienced in programming HIV/AIDS and Malaria intervention in fragile settings, he is a Master of Global Affairs Student at the Keough School of Global Affairs. He is excited about reinventing how to communicate the club’s vision, strategies, and accomplishments to Notre Dame, Africa, and the world. Asinamai is a die-hard Arsenal FC fan; he loves watching and playing soccer in his spare time.

 

 
                   

Elizabeth Adeyemo was serving as the Vice President for Events & Programming. She is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Anthropology. She is excited to facilitate events and activities that drive the mission of the club. She is passionate about heritage and loves photography.
