Research

The focus of my research is on the formulation, analysis, and numerical simulation of mathematical models of spatial and temporal phenomena in Mathematical Cell Biology.

The mathematical tools I use  include partial differential equations (PDEs), ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and stochastic models to understand how biological systems organize to perform various functions.  If you are a graduate or undergraduate student interested in working on these problems, please contact me.

My specific research interests include:

  • Mathematical modelling of cell lineages and optimal division patterns for delaying cancer
  • Modelling stem cell renewal and differentiation
  • Cell fate determination
  • Spatiotemporal behaviour of biochemical circuits
  • Modelling of cell polarization
