If you want a tease of my BOC book, you’ll soon be able to obtain an essay-length version of the Beyond Our Control story, titled “Creative Beyond Their Years: The Unique Alchemy of Beyond Our Control.” This whole project started when I saw a Call for Papers for a collection on local television histories, and thanks to the great stewardship of editors Annie Sullivan and Lauren Herold, as well as the editorial guidance of Ethan Thompson, Jeff Jones, and Mick Gusinde-Duffy at UGA Press’s Peabody Series in Media History — the same team that will publish my book! — Local TV Histories, Communities, and Aesthetics will be available this October.
