BridgeND is proud to present the documentary film The Burden at 5:00 P.M. and a panel of stellar guests at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, March 26th, 2018 in the Andrew Auditorium in the basement of Geddes Hall.
The film approaches sustainability from a variety of unique perspectives, focusing primarily on issues of national security. From military logistics to the strategic conditions that require military force in the first place, The Burden examines fossil fuels in a new and essential light.
Leading our discussion will be Greg Ballard, the 48th mayor of Indianapolis and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Rachel Novick, director of the Notre Dame minor in sustainability, Therese Dorau, the director of the Office of Sustainability for the city of South Bend, and Mark McCready, professor and senior associate dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Engineering. Mike Desch, professor of Political Science and director of the Notre Dame International Security Center.
Our moderator is Patrick Regan, professor of Political Science specializing in conflict management, civil wars, external interventions and the politics of climate change
