In the past, I founded a Science on Tap series in the Capital region of New York as well as in Grand Rapids, MI. This event is an opportunity for conversation, debate and interaction between scientists and the public while drinking a beer. Each month an expert hosted a scientific discussion in a local bar. From that, I helped to co-found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capsciny.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.capsciny.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1569346746153000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG7vE5xtusWpYM1wkvOorDQVG2XNw\">CapSci,<\/a> a not-for-profit organization focused on informal STEM outreach in the Capital Region of New York.
