Richard Dawkins
Dawkins is a renowned scientist, focusing on ethology and evolutionary biology. His claim to fame is a tie between this book and his burning hate for religion. 
He is what you would call a raging atheist through and through. He’s done multiple documentaries and interviews where he spits on anyone who even once thought about religion. He founded the Foundation for Reason and Science to argue his cause, although he does fight some noble fights with his foundation like the one against creationists. Dawkins is undeniably brilliant. He is an emeritus fellow at New College, Oxford and has done great work for the field of evolutionary biology. The only problem is that he knows he is brilliant, and therefore he is incredibly conceited. Regardless of anyone’s opinions of him, Dawkins deserves praise for his work, which is revolutionary at best and an interesting thought experiment at worst.
