We will spend approximately 2\/3 of the semester on Linear Algebra covering the first 6 chapters of Lay\u2019s et al. book. The remaining 1\/3 will be spent on the first 3 chapters from Boyce and DiPrima. Below you will find a tentative schedule of the material to be covered each week. You are expected to read the material before the class as typically the instructors will not cover all the details of a given section. Also there will not be enough time to discuss applications and you are highly encouraged to do some additional reading \u2013 e.g., chapter introductions or \u201dapplication\u201d sections (such as section 1.6 in Lay\u2019s book).<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><strong>Exams:<\/strong> There will be 3 midterm exams and a final exam. Exams may be made up only with an official University excuse. Conflicts with other exams must be resolved well in advance of the exam date.
