OUR MISSION
Our mission is to improve breast cancer awareness and expand access to care by providing culturally responsive resources for women in Northeast Indiana and beyond. We are committed to addressing the barriers that prevent many women, particularly those from underserved communities, from accessing timely and reliable understandable health information.
EmpowerHER seeks to bridge the gap between knowledge and action by equipping them with the tools and guidance needed to navigate the healthcare system. We strive to make complex medical information easier to understand and support women in taking proactive steps toward their health.
Through a combination of education and accessible digital tools, EmpowerHER works to reduce disparities in breast cancer outcomes. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that every woman, regardless of background, has the knowledge and support she needs to take control of her health journey with confidence.
WHAT WE DO
EmpowerHER provides a centralized, easy-to-use digital platform designed to support women in understanding breast cancer, accessing reliable information, and navigating the healthcare system with confidence. We offer clear, culturally responsive education on breast cancer, while also addressing common misconceptions that can delay care or create confusion. Our content is designed to be accessible to individuals with varying levels of health literacy, ensuring that medical information is presented in a way that is easy to understand and apply.
In addition to education, EmpowerHER connects users to local resources across Northeast Indiana, including screening services, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations. By organizing these resources in one place, we make it easier for women to take the next steps in their health journey.
EmpowerHER also focuses on health navigation, providing guidance that helps users understand when and how to seek care, what to expect during screenings or appointments, and how to advocate for themselves within the healthcare system. Through a community-informed approach, the platform reflects the real experiences and barriers faced by women, ensuring that the support provided is relevant.
