Recently, Pope Francis surprised a TED Talk with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/thetwo-way\/2017\/04\/26\/525699847\/in-surprise-ted-talk-pope-francis-asks-the-powerful-for-revolution-of-tenderness\">a message streaming from the Vatican<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis\u2019s message was aimed towards \u201cthe conference&#8217;s core subject matter (technology and innovation), and seemed to be directed at the audience in the room: the founders of some of the world&#8217;s biggest tech companies, as well as politicians, artists, entertainers, venture capitalists and leaders of major cultural institutions and foundations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis addressed the crowd of venture capitalists and innovators, stating: \u201cHow wonderful would it be if solidarity \u2014 this beautiful and, at times, inconvenient word \u2014 were not simply reduced to social work and became, instead, the default attitude in political, economic and scientific choices, as well as in the relationships among individuals, peoples and countries.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>His message continued: \u201cThe more powerful you are, the more your actions will have an impact on people, the more responsible you are to act humbly.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pope Francis is no stranger to addressing entrepreneurs and innovators, as I\u2019ve discussed in a previous blog post.
