At this prominent global gathering on science, technology, and innovation, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang emphasized the strength and importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in China. He\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/events\/annual-meeting-of-the-new-champions-2017\/sessions\/opening-plenary-c469efd1-d94e-4952-a358-a1a0cf1228be\">cited<\/a>\u00a0that 14,000 new companies are registered daily in China, and pointed to the World Intellectual Property Organization\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalinnovationindex.org\/gii-2017-report\">2017 Global Innovation Index<\/a>, where China ranks 22nd overall and 1st\u00a0among middle-income economies.
