Cologne is also within less than an hour\u2019s reach to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frankfurt-airport.com\/en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Frankfurt\/Main<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.duesseldorf-international.de\/dus_en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">D\u00fcsseldorf<\/a>&nbsp;airports. There are good connections (every 10 to 20 minutes) between Cologne airport and Cologne central station, and the travel time is only 15 minutes. The venue can be reached by foot within five minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By rail<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">High-speed trains offer smooth connections between many German and European cities and Cologne. The high-speed Thalys train connects the city with Brussels (1:47) and Paris (3:14); the ICE directly connects Amsterdam and Utrecht with Cologne in 2:38 and 2:13 respectively. There are also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/int.bahn.de\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">check times and connections<\/a>&nbsp;provided.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cologne central station is located in the city center and the venue can be reached by foot within five minutes. Leave the&nbsp;building at Cologne&nbsp;main station&nbsp;toward&nbsp;the Cologne Cathedral. Go to the right towards the street \u201cAn den Dominikanern\u201d and keep straight on. You\u2019ll cross the streets \u201cMarzellenstra\u00dfe,\u201d \u201cPostprivatstra\u00dfe,\u201d and \u201cStolkgasse.\u201d The street \u201cAn den Dominikanern\u201d changes now&nbsp;over in the street \u201cUnter Sachsenhausen.\u201d Keep straight on and you\u2019ll see righthanded at the corner \u201cTunisstra\u00dfe\/Unter Sachsenhausen\u201d the&nbsp;GESIS&nbsp;building.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Intercity Bus<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bus station is located in the center of Cologne next to the central train station. Travelling by bus is often cheaper than travelling by train. Connections are especially good between Eastern European cities and Cologne. The venue can be reached by foot within five minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By car<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GESIS can be reached via Autobahn A1, A3, A4, A57, A59, and A555. Finding a parking place free of charge and close to the venue may&nbsp;be rather difficult.
