The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is an experiment under construction that will use neutrinos sent from Fermilab in Illinois to the Sanford Underground Research Facility in South Dakota. DUNE will make many exciting neutrino measurements, including searching for Charge-Parity violation by neutrinos, which may help explain the matter/antimatter imbalance in the universe.
Currently, Professor Fields leads the DUNE Beam Interface Working group where she has helped design DUNE’s neutrino beam. Check out the video below from Symmetry Magazine for more on how neutrino beams work.
