{"id":167,"date":"2026-10-29T09:32:31","date_gmt":"2026-10-29T13:32:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/laura-fields\/?page_id=167"},"modified":"2026-11-03T08:20:55","modified_gmt":"2026-11-03T13:20:55","slug":"dune-neutrino-flux-file-documentation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/laura-fields\/dune-neutrino-flux-file-documentation\/","title":{"rendered":"DUNE Flux Documentation"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><b> File Formats <\/b>\n<ul>\n<li> Fluxes are available in<br \/>\nseveral formats including dk2nu trees that contain information about all neutrinos generated in<br \/>\nthe beamline and neutrino energy histograms that were obtained from these trees.   <\/p>\n<li> The trees have large file sizes and are available in limited quantities here; larger<br \/>\nsamples are available to DUNE collaborators with access \/pnfs\/dune\/persistent area at Fermilab or in some cases upon request.                                                                            <\/p>\n<li> In most cases, There are files for both  neutrino mode (FHC) and antineutrino mode (RHC).\n\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li> <b> Histograms<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li> Each histogram file will typically contain fluxes for the near detector (ND) located 574 m downstream of the start of Horn 1 and the far detector (FD) located 1297 km downstrea\n<li> Histograms are available in two different formats &#8212; a .root file containing flux histograms and a GLoBES flux input file.\n<li> The GLoBES files have units of nus \/ GeV \/ m^2 \/ POT; the columns of those files correspond to the neutrino energy at bin center, nue flux, numu flux, nutau flux, nuebar flux.\n                <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li> <b>Software Versions<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li> The fluxes were generated with various patches of G4LBNF version v3r5; the specific version is in the filenames.\n<li> The histogram files also contain Neutral Current and Charged Current event ratess, which were\n                <\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>File Formats Fluxes are available in several formats including dk2nu trees that contain information about all neutrinos generated in the beamline and neutrino energy histograms that were obtained from these trees.
