All courses will be created in Canvas. <ul><li><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/teachwithcanvas\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"sites.nd.edu\/teachwithcanvas\">Learn more about using Canvas in your classroom<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>January 20, 2023 &#8211; All access to retrieve any content from Sakai will become unavailable to faculty and students.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Spring 2022<\/strong> &#8211;<strong> Final semester to use Sakai<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last day Sakai will be available for teaching is <strong>May 9, 2022<\/strong> and the last day faculty &amp; staff will have access to content in Sakai is <strong>January 20, 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Canvas is available for use by Notre Dame instructors, with transition support, on-boarding, and orientation.<\/li><li>Workshops available for <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/teachingwithcanvas\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/teachingwithcanvas\/\">Canvas professional development opportunities<\/a><\/li><li>Spring 2022 is the final semester Sakai will be available for teaching.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Campus campaign to build awareness and desire to use Canvas as ND new Learning Management System (LMS)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fall 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All Notre Dame courses moved to Canvas and available to teach in either Sakai or Canvas<\/li><li>Faculty can opt in to conduct courses in Canvas<\/li><li>Campus-wide campaign in full swing to move from Sakai to Canvas<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Summer 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Fall 2021 migration efforts for select faculty\/courses. (Faculty whose courses are prioritized to move to Canvas for Fall 2021 have been contacted).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All summer courses (with the exception of Summer Online program) will remain on Sakai. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Spring 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Faculty chosen to participate in the pilot will test one of the two finalist platforms (BrightSpace and\/or Canvas) in live instruction, supported by the OIT Teaching and Learning Technologies team.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The faculty committee will continue to collect faculty and student feedback, evaluate the results of the pilot, and recommend the successor platform by the end of May 2021.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fall 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All faculty are invited to vendor presentations by Instructure on Friday, October 23 (Canvas) and D2L on Friday, October 30 (Brightspace).&nbsp; <\/li><li>The TLT identifies faculty volunteers to use one of the candidate platforms in a live pilot during the Spring 2021 semester. <\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summer 2022 Canvas available for use by Notre Dame instructors, with transition support, on-boarding, and orientation.
