Laboratory Safety Officers serve in an advisory role to laboratory personnel in order to equip researchers with the training and resources necessary to conduct work safely. Risk Management and Safety (RMS) and the LSO program share similar goals and their responsibilities are complementary.
The information contained here is a combination of content from the RMS Laboratory Safety Manual and Chemical Hygiene Plan as well as information specific to the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department. We hope this provides the most distilled and pertinent safety-related information for LSOs and all students in the Department.
