Whit Lewis

Whit is a first year PhD student under Dr. McClarren. He is working on building a Monte Carlo code for thermal radiative transfer. Even though his interests vary, during his undergrad years he studied physics at Hillsdale college, where he gained experience in solid state physics while studying spin based magnetism, radio astronomy, specifically focusing on pulsars, as well as the basics of signal processing while working with Dr. Timothy Dolch, utilizing the on campus radio telescope. He further gained experience in experimental nuclear physics working under Dr. Manoel Couder in the Notre Dame ISNAP lab to improve the St. George Recoil separator as part of the Notre Dame Physics REU program.
