The following example curricula list the recommended courses for each track. Students are required to earn 30 credits total, with at least 24 credits at the 60000 level or higher, and the remaining 6 credits at the 40000 level or higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For students entering the program with non-EAC\/ABET-accredited undergraduate degrees who are targeting careers requiring professional engineering (PE) registration, please review the information at the bottom of our “Who Should Apply?<\/a>” page regarding credential evaluations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Structural Engineering (Track A)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This curriculum was developed with direct input from industry partners and employers of our graduates, as well as the results of public surveys<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Track A is for students with undergraduate degrees in structural engineering, architectural engineering with a structural emphasis, or civil engineering with a structural engineering concentration or minor. Students in Track A must have taken undergraduate courses in structural analysis, reinforced concrete design, and steel design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Structural Engineering (Track B)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Track B is for students with undergraduate degrees in other engineering fields, materials science, physics, etc. provided the students have taken multiple, sequential courses in mathematics (including Calculus II at a minimum) as well as statics, solid mechanics, and materials laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
