His hard-hitting poetry deals often with urban violence, yet with a keen and vibrant complexity that explores \u201ceverything from the basketball court to conceptions of time to his father\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He received his MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College, his PhD at Temple University, and currently teaches in the MFA program at Indiana University Bloomington.<\/p>\n<p>This reading is free and open to the public, and without a doubt will be a great public service.
