Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Shakir worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Delhi. Shakir received his PhD in Physics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi, India) in the area of nonlinear dynamics and complex systems. She holds her bachelor degree in Mathematical Sciences at &#8220;Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos&#8221; in Lima, Peru. She got a fellowship from CONACYT-OEA-AMEXCID in Mexico to carry out her Doctoral research in &#8220;Control Policies and Vector Behavioral Effects in Vector Host Interactions with Novel Applications for Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in Peru. She obtained her Doctor in Science\u00a0degree\u00a0in Applied Mathematics from CIMAT (Research Center in Mathematics) in Guanajuato, Mexico. Before coming to Notre Dame, Swarnali worked as a research fellow at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, India. Swarnali received her PhD in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, India and her Master\u2019s and Bachelor\u2019s degrees in Mathematics from Jadavpur University, India. Swarnali\u2019s primary research interest lies in modelling infectious diseases and ecological systems to investigate dynamic behavior of those systems.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yang Xu<\/strong>\u00a0 (Yang.Xu.88 [at] nd [dot] edu)<\/p>\n<p>Yang is a staff member of the Center for Research Computing at Notre Dame. He earned an M.S. in Applied Computing Mathematics and Statistics, also at Notre Dame.
