Matthew Morrison is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering<\/a> at the University of Notre Dame<\/a>.<\/p>\n He received the B.S. degree in Computer Engineering (2010), the M.S. degree in Computer Engineering (Thesis<\/a>, 2012), and the Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering (Dissertation<\/a>, 2014), all from the University of South Florida<\/a>. Prior to his academic career, he served as a Nuclear Electronics Technician in the\u00a0United States Navy from 1999-2005. He graduated from Mount Saint Joseph College<\/a> in Baltimore, MD in 1998.<\/p>\n Dr. Morrison has held faculty positions at Notre Dame (2019-present) and the University of Mississippi (2014-2018).<\/p>\n Dr. Morrison\u2019s research\u00a0focuses include low-power hardware security, digital and analog VLSI design, smart and connected health in athletic and space\u00a0environments, and STEM outreach and education.\u00a0He has advised or co-advised five Masters students, and 15 Honors Thesis students.<\/p>\n At USF, he received the Provost’s Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Graduate Teaching Assistant<\/a>\u00a0in 2012, the Spirit of Innovation Research Award in 2013, and the Outstanding Dissertation Award in 2014. At the\u00a0University of Mississippi, he received the School of Engineering’s Junior Faculty Research Award in 2017 and the Outstanding Teaching Award in 2018. He has received Best Paper Awards at IEEE ISVLSI, IEEE ISEC, and Cadence\u00a0CDNLive. He is also the recipient of the 2018 National Academic Advising Network’s (NACADA) Global Outstanding\u00a0Advising Award for Faculty<\/a>.
