Like all my colleagues in PLS, I advise a few undergraduate theses every year. Students can’t pick their advisors, strictly speaking, but their preference will be factored into the department’s calculus, especially when the proposal has been crafted in consultation with the person they’d like to work with.
In general, I’d be most helpful for theses on the Renaissance, especially in England; on various topics in poetry, poetics, and aesthetics; and on the writers we cover in Seminars III and IV. Thus far my students have written about John Donne, John Milton, and Fyodor Dostoevksy.
If you’re interested in writing under my supervision, please send me an email or drop by my office.
