History

NDMUNC has a rich history of fostering substantive debate amongst high school students and partnering with the local community. For years, the conference welcomed high school students to campus, offering them an opportunity to engage in debate, diplomacy, and leadership development. Throughout its early years, NDMUNC built strong connections with the local community, partnering with charities and featuring notable speakers such as Gerard Powers, coordinator of the Catholic Peacebuilding Network. The conference was placed on hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a temporary disbandment. In Fall 2024, after several years of inactivity, NDMUNC was officially reestablished, marking a new chapter in its longstanding tradition of fostering global awareness and civic engagement.
