Before designing your own content, search the web for free materials that can be used in your course &#8212; look for Open Educational Resources (OER). OER are free\u00a0online resources and incorporate full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, streaming videos, tests, and software.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some OER sites:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cccoer.org\/learn\/find-oer\/open-textbooks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Textbooks\u00a0<\/a>are\u00a0typically free textbooks authored by faculty and published on the web with the support of universities.<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cccoer.org\/learn\/find-oer\/open-courseware\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open CourseWare\u00a0<\/a>is a\u00a0digitized course material from private and public universities. Materials vary from complete syllabi and lecture slides to video lectures and assignments.<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cccoer.org\/learn\/find-oer\/subject-specific\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Subject-specific OER\u00a0<\/a>are OER materials categorized by subject<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cccoer.org\/learn\/find-oer\/general-oer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">General OER Repositories\u00a0<\/a>contain general information about OER and some free materials<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cccoer.org\/learn\/find-oer\/open-books\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Books<span class=\"screenreader-only\">\u00a0<\/span><\/a>contain free books that can be downloaded and used for your courses<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cccoer.org\/learn\/find-oer\/open-journals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Journals\u00a0<\/a>contain free academic journal articles<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cccoer.org\/learn\/find-oer\/digital-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Digital Media\u00a0<\/a>includes free videos and music.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also, don&#8217;t forget to search\u00a0<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YouTube<\/a>,\u00a0<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ted.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TED<\/a>, and\u00a0<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.khanacademy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Khan Academy\u00a0<\/a>for course content.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Creating your own materials and content can be time-consuming and you may not have the resources.
