{"id":1471,"date":"2026-09-23T15:59:21","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T19:59:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/paleolab\/?p=1471"},"modified":"2026-09-23T15:59:21","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T19:59:21","slug":"efi2026-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/paleolab\/efi2026-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"EFI2026 Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jason, Jody, and Hannah attended the <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.ecoforecast.org\/meetings.ecoforecast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EFI2026 Conference<\/a> in Toronto on August 4-7.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jason led the working group on &#8220;Data Visualization and Storytelling,&#8221; which helped participants learn about leveraging recent advances in data visualization technologies and design methodologies, including using comics to share research and teach data science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hannah won the 2026 &#8220;EFI Futures Outstanding Student Presentation Award&#8221; for her poster on &#8220;What can long-term data show us about uncertainties in forest models?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"722\" height=\"618\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/paleolab\/files\/2026\/08\/OGradyEFI2026_Poster.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/paleolab\/files\/2026\/08\/OGradyEFI2026_Poster.png 722w, https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/paleolab\/files\/2026\/08\/OGradyEFI2026_Poster-300x257.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 722px) 100vw, 722px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also were able to connect with Alfred P.
