The conservation treatment of the Hesburgh Libraries&#8217; important copy of Dante&#8217;s <em>La Commedia<\/em> (Venice: Vindelinus de Spira, 1477) will be detailed in this profusely illustrated lecture. Bibliophiles, conservators, librarians, Italian scholars, and anyone curious about the physical structure of books will find this lecture of interest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, August 23\u00a0at 5:00pm<\/strong>\u00a0|\u00a0<em>The Italian Research Seminar<\/em>: <a href=\"https:\/\/italianstudies.nd.edu\/events\/2018\/08\/23\/research-seminar-the-scene-of-the-crime-tombolo-on-and-off-screen-prof-charles-leavitt-notre-dame\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;The Scene of the Crime: Tombolo On- and Off-Screen&#8221;\u00a0by Charles Leavitt (Notre Dame)<\/a>.
