Oecumenica<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em>(Patavii, 1708 and 1707) ; this volume also contains his\u00a0<em>Vindiciae Augustinianae quibus Sancti Doctoris scripta advers\u00f9s\u00a0Pelagianos\u00a0<\/em>and is bound with his\u00a0<em>Opera Varia<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/rbsc\/files\/2022\/05\/BOO_006159293-0004_0005.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"805\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/rbsc\/files\/2022\/05\/BOO_006159293-0004_0005-1024x805.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/rbsc\/files\/2022\/05\/BOO_006159293-0004_0005-1024x805.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/rbsc\/files\/2022\/05\/BOO_006159293-0004_0005-300x236.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/rbsc\/files\/2022\/05\/BOO_006159293-0004_0005-768x604.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/rbsc\/files\/2022\/05\/BOO_006159293-0004_0005-1536x1207.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/rbsc\/files\/2022\/05\/BOO_006159293-0004_0005-2048x1609.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first work, in which this Augustinian hermit (1631-1704) attacks Pelagianism and its emphasis on the efficacy of human free will and denial of original sin, was almost immediately suspected of propounding Jansenist doctrines;
