Sensorium 2026<\/strong> is a conference dedicated to advancing research in sensory biology, ecology, and evolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sensorium brings together researchers to share new ideas, present recent findings, and foster collaborations across disciplines. The meeting will feature two days of talks and posters, along with opportunities for informal discussion and networking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference is sponsored by the Department of Biological Sciences, the College of Science, and Notre Dame Research at the University of Notre Dame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All attendees must register by September 30. Registration fees are $40 for regular attendees and $20 for students and postdocs, and include lunch on Saturday and the conference dinner.

Participants may present a talk (one per lab), a poster, or attend without presenting. To register, please provide your contact information and, if applicable, a presentation title and abstract (200 words). The deadline to register to give a talk or present a poster is September 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dakota McCoy<\/strong> (University of Chicago) studies the evolution of sensory and light-interacting systems across scales, including the biophotonics of photosynthesis in symbiotic marine organisms and extreme visual traits such as \u201csuper black\u201d coloration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amanda Melin<\/strong> (University of Calgary) investigates the evolution of primate sensory systems through a multisensory lens, linking variation in vision, olfaction, taste, and touch to diet, behavior, and ecological adaptation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
