The lake is surrounded by agricultural fields, woodlands, and residential properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This 62-acre lake, consisting of open water, submergent marsh, and floating islands, is understood to be spring-fed from land on the west side. So far, 63 native plant species have been documented, eight of which are state endangered or threatened. Sandhill cranes (<em>Antigone canadensis<\/em>) and Canada geese (<em>Branta canadensis<\/em>) have nested here for many years, while wood ducks (<em>Aix sponsa<\/em>) and other waterfowl have also been seen in open-water areas during spring and fall migration. White-tailed deer (<em>Odocoileus virginianus<\/em>) roam the forests that surround the lake, which has areas densely covered by emergent aquatic vegetation, including spatterdock (<em>Nuphar advena<\/em>). Cricket frogs (<em>Acris crepitans<\/em>) and green frogs (<em>Lithobates clamitans<\/em>) along with bullfrogs (<em>Lithobates catesbeianus<\/em>) can also be heard, especially after sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is currently no public access.
