{"id":78,"date":"2012-10-31T11:08:21","date_gmt":"2012-10-31T15:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.nd.edu\/ssc\/?page_id=78"},"modified":"2012-10-31T11:08:21","modified_gmt":"2012-10-31T15:08:21","slug":"assessment-summary-and-timeline","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.nd.edu\/ssc\/assessment-summary-and-timeline\/","title":{"rendered":"Assessment Summary and Timeline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summer Service Collaborative \u2013 Summary and Timeline for Assessment\/Research<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>October 24-26, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of research: <\/strong>\u00a0Evaluate the impact of summer service immersion experiences on students from a variety of colleges and universities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Participants: <\/strong>Those who have summer immersions of four or more weeks with preparation and follow-up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Definition of Summer Service Immersion Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In higher education, summer service immersion programs create\/ <em>craft (not all will be new as implied with create)<\/em>teaching, learning and research strategies that integrate meaningful community engagement with instruction and reflection to enrich the educational experience, foster\u00a0 civic responsibility, examine and identify systemic causes of social issues, and strengthen communities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rubric \u2013 <\/strong>What do we expect students to learn? To be posted on website.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hone rubric &#8211; \u00a0Chairs for each criterion<\/p>\n<p>Who will house the survey and who will process it?
