From the Acting Chair
\n<\/strong>This spring marks the retirement of Dr. Mark Pilkinton after 32 years of service to Notre Dame.\u00a0 During his career, Mark directed fifteen productions for the Department (from 1984 through 2008), created the New Playwrights Workshop (1998), and served as Department Chair for thirteen years (between 1984 and 2003). Mark is not only a theatre historian \u2013 he is the historian of theatre at Notre Dame. Author of Washington Hall at Notre Dame<\/em> (2011), Mark has served for many years as co-editor of the Notre Dame Theatre Chronology, a database containing essential details of campus theatre productions from 1845 to the present day. Mark also initiated the \u201cFrom The Archives\u201d note in our programs to help our audiences understand our long tradition of theatre at Notre Dame.\u00a0Thank you, Mark, for molding the Department into the one we have today.\u00a0 Don\u2019t make yourself a stranger!<\/p>\n
