Hi! Welcome to my website! I’m glad you’re here.

If you’ve somehow stumbled upon this site accidentally, I’m Wesley, a PhD. student in the philosophy department of Notre Dame. This is a page for the posting of my professional work in philosophy. I hope you’ll stay awhile!
A little about me:

I am interested in big questions and clear answers, and in (hopefully) connecting the two.
My current research is centered on reasoning; in particular, I am interested in the role the concept plays in debates over the nature of philosophy. I also have enduring interests (which often tie into my research) in the philosophy of religion, the philosophy of mind, and in empirical psychology.
I am a Bay Area native. When not philosophizing or overthinking, I like to play with my dog (pictured left), read fiction, go on walks, and play board-games with my fiancée.
I enjoy talking to people about things (not necessarily philosophical ones), so feel free to shoot me an email at wcosta[at]nd[dot]edu.
