Sunday, February 11, was the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. To celebrate, Science asked female scientists from around the world to share their experiences and offer advice. Some women spoke of their experiences dealing with imposter syndrome, while others shared their struggles in balancing careers with a home life. In facing such obstacles, Elizabeth Nance of the University of Washington in Seattle, speaks of how “willingly taking a step back and being introspective about what you want and need—asking yourself, ‘What is best for me?’ —is critical.”  Science
