Micro-Teaching Assignment

On Day 3 of the Orientation, all FLTAs will present a 5-minute teaching activity pitched towards beginning-level students learning your native language. Teaching activities will be observed and assessed by their fellow FLTAs and Notre Dame language faculty who do not necessarily speak or teach the presenter’s language. Feedback will be based on the following criteria:

  • What skill and/or topic did the presenter teach?
  • What activity did the presenter implement? How would you rate this activity’s effectiveness, with 1 being the lowest in effectiveness and 5 being the highest? Why?
  • What did you like about the presenter’s lesson?
  • What suggestions do you have for the presenter?

FLTAs should not plan on using Powerpoint or technology. There will be white boards available.
