Liu Zongyuan, “Snow on the River” (栁宗元 , 江雪)

Li Min, ink on rice paper
千山鸟飞绝,万径人踪 灭。

孤舟蓑笠翁,独钓寒江雪。

There are no birds flying in the mountains,
No trace of footprints on the paths.
A single boat, a lonely farmer
Is fishing in the snowy winter.
