Dear Families,
We’re excited for the concert this sunday at Washington Hall. Your students have been working extremely hard, and we can’t wait for them to be able to share their progress with you!
1. Concert schedule – it makes the concert run smoothly when students are on time!
4:05 PM Beginning Band (first years) on stage for warmups
4:20 PM Returning Band (not first years) seated in audience with instrument, ready to warm up
5:00 PM Concert Begins
2. For the concert, both performers and audience members should enter through the front doors (facing the LaFortune Student Center). We’ve been asked NOT to use the side doors we’ve sometimes used in the past! Tickets are completely free, please pick them up at the ticket desk inside the doors of Washington Hall (and say hello to the mentors taking tickets and serving as ushers!) Attached, you’ll find a map of Washington Hall on the Notre Dame campus, along with a few locations you may want to park. Library Lot on the east side of campus, and Stadium lots on the south side of campus are both fair game, and the gates will be up, allowing you to park there without a permit.
3. Dress code – We ask that students dress up for the concert. This can mean anything from a nice sweater or button down with Kahkis, to a dress or suit. As it’s the holiday concert, they’re also free to wear santa hats or antlers if they’d like to!
4. Dessert Reception – In the past, family members have brought baked goods or other dessert items for a dessert reception in the basement of Washington Hall after the concert. If everyone brings a dish, we can have enough cookies and treats for all the students, mentors, and families, and we can chat with the mentors, thanking them for their hard work, and reminding them how close their final exams are. Please consider bringing a dessert to pass!
5. The ND Jazz Bands will have their Winter concert sunday at 7PM at DPAC. Tickets are free, and available at this link, or at the door. (Some mentors will be performing, and may have to miss the dessert reception for sound check)
As always, if you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
Sincerely,
Bandlink Directors
